my first real still life

January ended perfectly sitting at an easel getting some painting instructions from Bernie Rosage. He took the time to show me how to do a still life. I must say I never thought I would enjoy doing a still life. I had thought they would be quite boring. I was wrong. I found it very exciting to see the image take shape on the canvas. It was a whole new way of painting for me. Not that I know anything about painting but I never "sketched" a painting out first. I had always just dumped paint on the canvas. I thought it was great how we did tonal values then added color ending in highlights. It was very exciting to learn some actual technique. I will definitely be doing more of these. Thanks for looking.
