NYC 911 and Beirut Memorial

For those of you who don't know there is a 911 and Beirut memorial in Jacksonville NC. The 911 memorial is a beam from the trade towers that was donated in memory to the victims of 911 and the fallen Marines of the Iraq war. The Beirut Memorial has been built in honor of the 241 Marines and sailors that died at the Beirut embassy bombing on Oct 23, 1983 at the hands of a suicide bomber. It is a large wall with the names of all 241 Marines and sailors that died that day.  I painted both. As you can see I was near the 911 memorial with the Beirut Memorial in the background. It was a challenging topic but I am pleased with the outcome.  My favorite part was the "street" light. I took a lot of artistic license and left out about a dozen trees and two flag poles. Please feel free to comment.
